SERVPRO Eliminates Water Damage in Orlando Home Before the Guests Arrive

Not every water damage call finds water standing in the home and multiple rooms affected. Sometimes a water loss issue can be tiny but mighty. Such as a slow leak that has gone unnoticed for an extended period until it announces itself with both odor and a wet area.

SERVPRO was called to assist with water damage in an Orlando home. A leak under a not-too-often-used guest bathroom in their home had been found as they were prepping the room for visitors and noticed the cabinet under the bathroom sink was wet. After the homeowner had the pipe repaired their next call was to us.

Our local emergency response team arrived quickly to inspect the Orlando water damage and got to work immediately. On inspection, the pipe had been steadily dripping for a long time, and wood underneath was warped and drywall by the pipe too saturated to restore through our drying methods. Moisture detection confirmed the wall and area under the cabinet needed drying.

Technicians removed the damaged drywall and bottom of the cabinet to allow for sufficient airflow and complete drying. Air movers were positioned to dry the interior of the cabinet and back wall. The area under the cabinet showed an area of moisture retention, so our technicians set up an Injecti-Dry configuration to force air under the cabinet area.

Once dry, the areas affected by the moisture were wiped down and disinfected with our professional-grade formulas. Our SERVPRO location offers building services, and our technicians suggested to the homeowner the necessary repairs and restorations needed for returning the cabinet to preloss condition. The homeowner and adjuster approved the work, and we installed a new bottom to the cabinet and replaced the damaged drywall. Now, guests can enjoy the room without any signs there was a leaky pipe.

The key to limiting water damage in your home is to call SERVPRO of West Orange at (407) 352-1569 as soon as you see an issue. Our training and equipment mean we can make your water loss, "Like it never even happened."
